What kind of heater does an electric car have?

Electric vehicles are usually equipped with the following types of heaters:

1.PTC heater

This is a common heating element in electric vehicles. Its mechanism of action is to provide electrical energy through the power battery, generate resistance heat after power is turned on, and is regulated by the electronic switch module. Subsequently, the air flows through the heater through the work of the blower, thereby achieving the effect of heating the air. PTC heaters are usually installed in the position of the small water tank of the traditional fuel car heater, with the characteristics of energy saving, stable temperature, safety and reliability, and long service life. For example, Mitsubishi Motors' "i-MiEV" model uses PTC heaters to heat circulating water, while Nissan Motors' "Leaf" uses PTC heaters to directly heat the air.

2. Warm air heater

This is a key component in the heating system of new energy vehicles, responsible for providing warm air to the interior space, ensuring that drivers and passengers can enjoy a comfortable driving environment even in cold weather.

3. Eberspächer PTC water heater

This heater is known for its excellent performance, compact size and high space utilization. It also uses PTC heating technology, showing excellent heating effect, and has the advantages of automatic temperature control, constant temperature stability, energy saving and high efficiency.

In addition, the high-voltage system of electric vehicles also includes components such as power batteries, drive motors, high-voltage distribution boxes (PDU), electric compressors, DC/DC converters, OBCs (on-board chargers), and high-voltage wiring harnesses. Although the main function of these components is not directly used for heating, they will generate a certain amount of heat during their operation.
